As your health coach, I am the person on your healthcare team who specializes in behavior change. We partner together in achieving your health goals. I do not diagnose problems or dictate plans, but rather support you by using evidence-based techniques that facilitate behavior change. I listen mindfully, share insights and observations, ask meaningful questions, collaborate on strategies, provide accountability, and help you develop a realistic plan.
I address your health by looking at you as a whole person - considering not just nutrition and exercise, but numerous aspects of your life (such as environment, personal development, or rest). Often multiple areas are interconnected, and one may be best addressed when considering the others. Together, we will bring to light your big picture of health, and make connections between your strengths, values and goals. This foundation and support will keep you moving through realistic actions steps to achieve your optimal health.
Examples of common health goals are:
manage stress; create more balance
improve energy; be more active
lower blood pressure or cholesterol
prevent or manage diabetes, heart disease or other chronic illnesses
quit smoking or reduce alcohol use
return to work or continue working
increase knowledge of health options
